To boost rural electrification, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has okayed the appointment of Abba Abubakar Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and other Heads of the Agency’s Departments.
The Heads of the Departments are
Engr. Umar Abdullahi Executive Director, Technical Services, Ayoade Gboyega Executive Director, Corporate Services, Hon. Engr. Doris Uboh Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund and Olufemi Akinyelure Head, Nigeria Electrification Program (Project Management Unit).
The appointment, according to a statement by the Director, Information & Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, takes effect from 23rd January, 2025 for an initial period of four (4) years.
The appointments, the statement said, are in accordance with the extant provisions of the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders.
Before his appointment, Aliyu served as General Manager at the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc and as Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Power on Policy.
The President tasked the MD and his team to bring their wealth of experience to bear in providing access to reliable electric power supply to rural dwellers.
