Super Eagles For AFCON 2023 Final, Beat South Africa 4 - 2

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday night qualified for final of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire. 

It won South Africa by 4-2 at the end of the penalty shootout. 

Vice President Kashim Shettima had earlier landed in the country to cheer the Super Eagles to victory. 

Both teams held on to the match with 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of the game. 

William Troost-Ekong put Nigeria ahead from the penalty spot on the 67 minutes of the game.

South Africa equalized through Teboho Mokoena just before the 90 minutes regulation time.

With this victory, the Super Eagles will face the winner of the second semi-final between hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Democratic Republic of Congo in the final match billed for Sunday.
