Some personnel of the Lagos State Police Command have rescued a day-old baby abandoned on Alhaji Masha Road in the Surulere area of the state.
This was disclosed on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 by the command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
Hundeyin said a social worker attached to a hospital in Surulere reported the recovery of the baby to the police on Monday, April 15.
According to him, the social worker reported that the baby was found inside a polythene bag and abandoned by unknown person(s) on the road in Lagos.
The police spokesperson added: “The baby was evacuated and taken to Randle General Hospital, Surulere, and is responding to treatment.
“Investigation into the incident is ongoing.” he stated
