*NPFL Releases Fixtures/Key Dates
The four-time Nigeria Premier Football League Champions, Kano Pillars FC, fondly known as Sai Masu Gida, is set to kick off their 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign with an exciting home fixture against the newly promoted Ikorodu City of Lagos.
The match is scheduled for the first week of September 2024.
According to a release by the Media & Communication Directorate of Kano Pillars FC "As the season unfolds, Kano Pillars FC will embark on a series of competitive fixtures throughout the year, aiming to reclaim the NPFL title.
"The month of September will see the team face Bayelsa United away, followed by a return to Kano to host Remo Stars, and a trip to the Southeast to battle Abia Warriors.
"October promises to be a crucial month for the Sai Masu Gida, with back-to-back away fixtures against Akwa United and Rangers International. The team will return home for a high-stakes match against Sunshine Stars before concluding the month with two intense games – one away to Nasarawa United and another at home against Plateau United."
It noted that one of the highlights of the season will be the first ZoBia Clasico, also known as the Naija El-Clasico, where the Sai Masu Gida will host Enyimba in November.
"The year will end on a high note with five fixtures in December, beginning with a trip to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United. The Pyramid City side will then welcome neigbours, Katsina United to Kano, followed by a journey to Akure to face Sunshine Stars.
"The team will close the year with a home match against Niger Tornadoes and an away clash with El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
Looking ahead to 2025, it said, Kano Pillars FC will kick off the new year with a rematch against El-Kanemi Warriors at home, before traveling to Lagos for an away fixture against Ikorodu City in January.
"February will see the team hosting Nasarawa United, followed by away matches against Remo Stars and Sunshine Stars, and a home fixture against Abia Warriors.
"March will feature back-to-back home games against Akwa United and Rangers International, with away trips to Kwara United and Plateau United rounding out the month.
"April will include a second ZoBia Clasico against Enyimba in Aba, and the season will conclude in May with home matches against Rivers United and Shooting Stars, along with away games against Katsina United and Niger Tornadoes." it stated
