President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, returned to Nigeria after a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom.
Tinubu, who left Nigeria for the UK on October 3, arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Saturday evening.
He was received by Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning; Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser; Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; and Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC); at the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
His absence and that of the Vice President Kashim Shettima the same time had made some people claimed that Nigeria was on autopilot.
But the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had countered that the government was 100% functional.
The convoy movement on Saturday to the Presidential Villa caused heavy traffic congestion on the airport road with many people caught up in the road blockade mounted by security agencies for about two hours.
