The former Minister of Women Affairs, Her Excellency Dame Pauline Tallen on Tuesday congratulated the newly inaugurated chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike on her successful election as first female chairman of the council after establishment 43 years ago.
Comrade Grace Ikeja had paid a courtesy visit to Dame Tallen's residence in Abuja in company of the treasurer, Ms Sandra Udeike and the former President of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Madam Evelyn Onyilo.
While presenting a Christmas souvenir to the chairman of the council, the former minister wished her success and an outstanding performance in moving the council and members forward.
Briefing the former Deputy Governor of Plateau State earlier, Comrade Ike assured of her team's determination to take the council to an enviable height.
She promised to prioritize welfare of members and promote the image of the union.
To this end, she appealed for support and guidance.
