The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, on Friday commended the media for bridging the gap between government policies and public understandings of activities of the sector.
He spoke in his office at the occasion of media parley in the ministry themed "Credible Reportage on the Positive Impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda on the Education Sector."
According to him, the media coverage in the ministry has ensured that stakeholders remain well-informed about the ministry’s activities.
He also commended the media for its dedication, accurate and timely reportage on the developments within the education sector.
Discussants from six major media outlets, had dwelt on the responsibilities of journalists to report accurately and ensure accurate representation of government interventions and their effects on the Education sector.
The media parley harped on the importance of transparency and accountability in reporting government policies.
The Director of Press, Mrs. Boriowo Folashade, also commended the media for its cooperation and support
She also urged journalists to take steps to clarify issues not clear bordering on government policies.
