FG Moves To Check Bullying In Schools, Sets Up 7-Man Panel

The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) has established a 7-member committee to address bullying incidents in all Nigeria schools. 

The move is to reinforce its commitment to student welfare and a safe learning environment.

Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, emphasized the urgent need for effective interventions, citing the psychological impact of bullying on students. 

Dr. Alausa reiterated the Ministry’s zero-tolerance stance on bullying, urging school administrators, teachers, parents, and students to support this initiative.

The Committee, according to a statement by Boriowo Folasade, Director, Press & Public Relations, will review reported cases and ensure swift action,. 

It will also complement the 21-member team working on a National Policy on Anti-Bullying.
