Interior Ministry, NAN Collaborate To Enlighten Nigerians On Tinubu's Achievements

Towards enlightening Nigerians on giant strides achieved under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has assured the News Agency of Nigeria of the cooperation of his Ministry. 

He gave this  assurance on Wednesday in his office, in Abuja, while receiving the Managing Director, News Agency of Nigeria, Malam Ali Muhammad Ali.  

Addressing the team from News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), led by its Managing Director, Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, the Minister reiterated the importance of having all hands on deck to engage citizens on the laudable programmes carried out in line  with the 8 points agenda of the Federal Government.

Highlighting the ongoing reforms at the  various agencies under the Ministry of Interior, the Minister also revealed  that the President has approved the establishment of National Paramilitary Academy for the training of young Nigerians.

The Minister, according to a statement by Ozoya Imohimi, Director, Press & Public Relations, said "I am pleased to announce you that the   President has graciously approved the employment of 50 Doctors and 100 Nurses to take care of  inmates at our Correctional Centres. He has also directed that medical Youth Corp Members be posted to the Correctional facilities to support the efforts of the medical personnel, he said.

The contactless passport renewal, he said, is a visible reform that has tamed corruption and made applying for passports easy. 
According to him, it underscored the Federal Government's commitment to, accessibility, efficiency, modernization of renewal application process.

The Minister further underscored the need to strengthen the security architecture of the country's critical infrastructure. 

He mentioned in particular the recent collaboration of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to safeguard the nation's mineral resources with establishment of mining marshal command.

The Minister spoke on the protection of Nigeria's power infrastructure in order to make the country an attractive investment destination.

Earlier in his remarks, the Managing Director, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Malam Ali Muhammad Ali applauded the visible giant strides of the Ministry.

"I want to categorically commended the Honourable Minister for driving the unprecedented reforms in conformity with the agenda of the President," he said.
