New Perm Sec Adeladan Assumes Duty At Communications Ministry

The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Mr. Adeladan Rafiu Olarinre (CIPSMN) has assumed duty in the ministry 

Taking charge in Abuja on Wednesday, 7th May, 2025, 
Adeladan admonished Directors and Heads of Units in the Ministry to put more efforts at tabling needs that would better the lives of Nigerians and less of personal comforts.

The Permanent Secretary noted that the management and staff have a common mandate and needs to focus and move the country forward, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration.

In a statement by Amina Dimlong, Head of Press/PRU, the Perm Sec also spoke passionately about the contribution of Digital Economy to the economic growth of Nigeria and the need for the ministry to be on the news always as the world has gone beyond analogue and has moved to Artificial Intelligence (AI). 

If AI is properly utilized, he said, a lot could be achieved in different sphere of the nation’s economy.

Adeladan also said that staff welfare and value addition can only happen when there is peace and harmony within the ministry, adding that there is need for transparency, efficiency and professionalism in performing their duties, charging them to shun corruption. 

Earlier in his remarks, Director, Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Joseph Anagonye welcomed the Permanent Secretary, and listed the critical departments in the ministry which includes, Spectrum Management, Information Communication Technology, Telecoms Postal Services and Radio Monitoring and Surveys. 

He gave the assurance of handing over immediately to enable the permanent Secretary take charge of the office. 

The out-going Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Comfort Kabirwa also appreciated the Permanent Secretary while giving her vote of thanks.
