The Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCTFA), Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, has been named Sports Icon of the year 2025 by Blueprint Newspaper, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the Youths and Sports Development in the FCT education sector.
Alhaji Moukhtar was presented with the award during the Blueprint Annual Public Lecture and Impact Series held in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.
According to the organisers, the FCT FA Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, emerged winner for his recognition of exemplary contribution and significant impact to the development of the country through youth empowerment and sports.
Mouktar, was also commended for prioritising human and youth capital development by through his numerous iconic projects and youths-oriented programmes.
Other notable honourees at the event includes the National Security Adviser, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who were also recognised for their contributions to national development.
Alhaji Abba Mouktar Mohammed on receiving the award, expressed appreciation on behalf of the FCT FA family, Sports loving people of the FCT and dedicated the award to the Almighty Allah and people of the Federal Capital.
He reaffirmed his commitment to impactful programmes that will help youth development, not only in the area Sports, but Sports and Education.
“This award and recognition is a true testimony that our efforts are being seen and appreciated. It is also a reminder that we must continue to do more with a strong sense of purpose and focus”.
