The Nigeria Union of Journalists FCT Council has extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Yomi Odunuga on his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
He was announced as the new SA Media on Thursday 10th July, 2025
A statement issued on Friday by Jide Oyekunle, Secretary NUJ FCT Council dedication, noted that Odunuga's professionalism, and commitment to journalistic integrity have always been exemplary.
It stated that the new role of the former Special Adviser on Media to former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is a well-deserved recognition of "your outstanding contributions to the field."
"Your wealth of experience and insightful communication skills will undoubtedly serve the government and the public well in this capacity.
"NUJ FCT Council is confident that you will deliver on your new role considering your professional prowess and that you will continue to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability in your new position
Mr. Odunuga, who had been the Editor, Nations Capital of the The Nation newspaper and a regular weekly columnist of 'Knucklehead' in the Saturday editions of the newspaper, is a seasoned journalist, poet, and columnist.
He began his journalism career with the PUNCH newspaper over 27 years ago as the State House Correspondent.
He served meritoriously and was promoted to the position of Abuja Bureau Chief of the newspaper.
Odunuga later became the Group Political Editor of the newspaper.
