Prof Utsev Receives Benue Born Super Falcons Player Francisca Ordega, Hails Team For WAFCON Victory

The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Engr Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev has congratulated a Benue born Super Falcons player Miss Francisca Ordega on their victory at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Receiving Miss Ordega in his office on Friday in Abuja alongside the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation Mr Richard Pheelangwah, the Minister said the ministry was happy to celebrate Miss Ordega and her team mates for making Nigeria proud for their record breaking victory by winning the trophy for the tenth time.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unflinching support to the team to win the trophy and for giving them national honours as well as the handsome rewards to boost their morale.

According to a statement by Terhemen Oraduen, Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Honourable Minister, Prof Utsev, said that the outstanding performance displayed by the team at the tournament was a clear demonstration of hard work, determination and team spirit.

The Minister said he was particularly happy that a Benue daughter has made Nigeria proud and promised to continue to support and encourage Benue youths to excel in their chosen careers.

Responding,Miss Ordega said she was happy to be honoured by her brother and uncle Prof Utsev, the good people of Benue, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire nation. 

She urged the Minister to continue to support sports development in Benue to discover more talents.

Professor Utsev also decorated one of the Police Personnel attached to his escort Mr Paul Akusu who has been promoted from Sergeant to Inspector. 

The Minister commended Mr Akusu for his hardwork and dedication to duty and urged him to continue with the spirit.
