The FCT FA has described reports of the sudden demise of Uwaeme Promise, also known as Pikin of God as shocking
The FCT FA Chairman, Alhaji Mouktar Mohammed, still reeling from the news, described the death of Promise as a great loss to the sporting fraternity in Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large.
While commiserating with family,friends and the referee association of the FCT,Alhaji Mouktar, stated that the death of young energetic talent will create a void of creativity, resilience and hard work.
‘’He is a very hardworking and forward-thinking man. He sees challenges as stepping stones to greater heights, and that has been demonstrated over the years. He has carved a niche for himself as an international sports journalist and sports administrator. We are sad, but we believe God has the final say.’’
‘’We, the FCT FA Family is mourning this period, and we are with the family. We pray Almighty Allah grant us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.’’
The Chairman also mourns with the referee association of the FCT and has asked them to be strong,reminding them that Promise was a good ambassador of the association who rose to enviable heights in the profession.
“ I know this is a difficult time for everyone mostly the referee association even at the National level but i say to you all,stay strong and remember he was a worthy ambassador who made the referees proud and rose to enviable heights in this profession”.
Throughout his life, Uwaeme Promise demonstrated qualities such as dedication, compassion, leadership and touched countless lives through his works and ideas.
Uwaeme Promise was a former committee member of FCT FA. He was also a referee in the FCT before going on to become one in the NPL and was also a VAR instructor.
