The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev on Monday declared open the 2026 Sectoral Retreat on the Ministerial Performance Management System in Abuja.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening performance, accountability, and service delivery across the sector.
He highlighted the critical role of the Performance Management System in driving efficiency, transparency, and measurable results in water resources management and sanitation delivery in tandem with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement by Mrs. Funmi Imuetinyan, Director Information and PR, the Minister also urged participants to actively engage in reviewing performance frameworks, share insights, and adopt practical strategies to improve implementation across departments, agencies, and River Basin Development Authorities.
He appreciated the contributions of resource persons and organizers.
The retreat culminated in the signing of Performance Bonds between the Minister and Chief Executive Officers of the Ministry’s agencies, as well as between the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emanso Umobong and Heads of Departments.
