Shaibu Bags Youth Devt Award for Commitment to Empowerment

Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has been honored with a Youth Development Award in recognition of his sustained contributions to youth empowerment and community development.

The award was conferred on him by the Jattu Ikpe Community Development Association (JCDA), acknowledging his consistent efforts in creating opportunities for young people and supporting initiatives that promote growth and self-reliance.

At the presentation, the association described Shaibu as a leader whose actions continue to inspire confidence among youths, noting that his track record in public service reflects a strong commitment to nurturing the next generation.

The award, according to a statement by Ben Ogbemudia, S. A. Media, Office of the DG and CEO,  National Institute for Sports, was received on the DG's behalf by Hon. Kelvin Mohammed, while Abudu Momodu formally presented it during the ceremony.

Speaking on the recognition, members of the association emphasized that the honor serves as both appreciation and encouragement for Shaibu to sustain his efforts in advancing youth-focused policies and programs.

As DG/CEO of the NIS, Shaibu has continued to champion reforms and initiatives aimed at repositioning sports as a viable platform for youth engagement, job creation, and national development.

The recognition by JCDA adds to growing commendations of his role in promoting youth inclusion and strengthening community-driven development efforts.
