The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, has joined the nation in mourning the passing of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti (1926–2026).
In a tribute, Oyedele described the late elder statesman as a revered leader whose life, spanning a century, was defined by integrity, principle and dedicated public service.
The Minister said for those in economic management, Pa Fasoranti's record as Commissioner for Finance in the old Ondo State under Chief Michael Ajasin remains a clear benchmark of prudence, accountability and ethical stewardship.
"As a proud son of Ondo State, I share in the grief of our people," Oyedele said.
He noted that the finest tribute to the centenarian's life of service is to lead with the discipline, fairness and commitment to the public good that he demonstrated throughout his life.
Oyedele extended his deepest condolences to the Fasoranti family, the Afenifere community and the people of Ondo State, praying for the repose of his soul.
"My thoughts and deepest condolences go to the Fasoranti family, the Afenifere community, and the people of Ondo State. May his soul rest in peace," the Minister said.
