The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Thursday disclosed that seven candidates for Permanent Secretary positions have been shortlisted for the oral interview stage.
While 29 candidates started the ongoing selection process, 11 of them had passed the written test and other clearances by Tuesday.
Out of the 11 candidates that scaled the first hurdle, 7 have now passed the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test.
They will now proceed to take oral test and when fully cleared by the Department of State Services (DSS), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Independent and Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the names of the successful candidates will be forwarded to President Bola Tinubu towards filling the existing vacancies.
This progression, according to a statement by Mrs. Eno Olotu,
Director, Information and Public Relations, underscores the government’s dedication to a transparent and merit-based selection process, ensuring that only the most qualified individuals ascend to the pivotal leadership roles.
It added "The shortlisted candidates have successfully navigated previous stages, including a comprehensive written examination and an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, which evaluated their knowledge, skills, and readiness to lead at the highest levels of public service."
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, it said, has reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fairness and excellence in the selection process.
She emphasized that the invitation of the candidates to the oral interview stage reflects the government’s resolve to appoint leaders of integrity, competence, and vision, capable of steering the Federal Civil Service toward achieving national development goals.
The statement also disclosed that the upcoming oral interviews will provide a platform to assess the candidates’ leadership qualities, policy-making acumen, and strategic vision.
