The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced an urgent maintenance exercise at its 330/132kV Gwagwalada Transmission Substation scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2026, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
In a notice signed by the TCN Management, the company said the three-hour exercise is necessary to enable its maintenance crew to work on the 33kV 6MVA earthing reactor at the substation.
As a result of the maintenance, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to distribute power to customers in several parts of the Federal Capital Territory during the period.
Affected areas include:
Aso Villa, Asokoro, African Medical Center, Kabusa, EFAB Estate, Apo Resettlement, Zone E Extension, Trademoore, and adjoining areas.
TCN apologized to electricity consumers in the affected areas for any inconvenience the outage may cause.
The company assured that normal electricity supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.
