Troops In Kebbi Foil Terror Attack On Construction Workers, Recover 3 Motorcycles

Troops of Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV have repelled a terrorist attack on construction workers in Tsatsunbe Village, Southern Kebbi State, rescuing all workers and recovering three motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing attackers.

According to a statement issued on Friday, the troops acted on a tip-off received on August 14, 2026 and moved swiftly to the location.

On arrival, they engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to withdraw into the surrounding bushes.

During a follow-up search of the area, soldiers recovered three motorcycles believed to have been used by the terrorists to access the village.

The construction workers, who had taken cover in the bushes during the attack, were safely rescued and escorted back to their camp unharmed.

Military authorities said the prompt response prevented casualties and disruption to ongoing infrastructure work in the area.

Officials described the operation as part of the continued mandate of Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV to protect civilians and critical infrastructure while denying terrorists freedom of action in Southern Kebbi.

“The operation highlights the troops’ commitment to securing communities and ensuring that development projects are not crippled by criminal elements,” the statement added.

Security forces have intensified patrols and community intelligence gathering across border communities in Kebbi to prevent further attacks.

No casualty was recorded among the troops or the rescued workers.
